Being Vegeterian

Being Vegeterian

Many people are surprised to learn how many people are vegetarian or vegan today. Some choose this way of eating because they care about animals. Others choose it for health, peace of mind, or spiritual reasons. Every time I receive a good health result, I feel grateful. I believe my vegetarian diet has definitely contributed to that. I also make sure to eat plant-based protein regularly so my body stays well nourished.

There are several benefits to being vegetarian. First, it can support good health when it is planned well. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics states that appropriately planned vegetarian and vegan diets can be nutritionally adequate for adults. Research also shows that vegetarian dietary patterns are linked with lower risks of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and some other chronic conditions. Harvard has also highlighted evidence that replacing animal protein with plant protein is associated with a lower risk of heart disease.

Second, a vegetarian diet can encourage a gentler state of mind. My Master once said that fewer people argue in a vegetarian restaurant. Many vegetarians feel that avoiding killing aligns with compassion and non-harming. For some people, this is not only a food choice but also a moral and spiritual practice. It helps them live more consistently with their values.

Third, vegetarian eating often leads people to be more conscious of what they consume. A balanced plant-based diet usually includes beans, lentils, tofu, nuts, seeds, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. These foods provide fiber, vitamins, minerals, and many protective compounds that support long-term health. I will upload my meal planner Google Sheets template later.

To me, being vegetarian is not a restriction. It is a mindful way of living. It supports health, compassion, and a calmer way of being.
